Adventure Trail @ Central Singapore --

Shan You抯 very first Adventure Trail @ Central Singapore was held for 35 volunteers on 23 June 2007 at Mac Ritchie Reservoir. With the theme of 揃ridging Generation Gaps? the Adventure Trail aims to provide an interactive and learning platform for the family members to gel together through exciting recreational activities.

Volunteers were divided into teams of 4 to 5 members to complete the tasks given to them and they were to set off to look for the 3 Game Stations hidden in the park and get their tasks completed. The tasks were not just activity-oriented. Participants were given the opportunity to get to know more about Singapore抯 history, such as the Hero of Force 136 ?Mr Lim Bo Seng who is a local patriot and had sacrificed his life to fight against the Japanese during Japanese Occupation.

Feedback from most of the volunteers?feedback indicated that the Adventure Trail was a good start in improving communication between family members. Teamwork also developed during the process of completing the tasks. One of the participants, Tong Kai, aged 14, said: 揑t was tough to find all the jigsaw puzzles in the bushes, but with the help of the whole team, it makes things easier!?

It was also heartwarming to see the senior volunteers trying their best to complete the tasks with the younger volunteers in the same team. Although the weather was hot, the senior volunteers?faces were brimming with smiles and their 搉ever-give up?spirit kept the team going.

A very BIG thank you to all the volunteers who had contributed in the planning and also running of the Adventure Trail. Without them and the participating volunteers, the activity would not have been the exciting success that it was. See you at the next Adventure!
